About GMCEventsBot

GMCEventsBot is the web crawler of The Global Mobility Collective. It looks for public industry events, such as conferences, webinars and networking events for the global mobility community, so that we can list them in our Global Events Calendar with a link back to the organiser’s own page.

How it behaves

• It identifies itself as GMCEventsBot/1.0 (+https://the-gmc.com/bot).
• It follows your robots.txt, including Crawl-delay. To stop it, add “User-agent: GMCEventsBot” and “Disallow: /”.
• It requests pages slowly, one at a time per site, and only at night (UTC).
• It reads public pages only. It never signs in, fills in forms or pays for access.
• It keeps only the facts about an event (name, dates, place, organiser and the link). It never copies or republishes your page text.
